What is Southern Nevada Strong?
Over the next 25 years, Southern Nevada will grow from 2.3 million to over 3 million people. In 2015, our community began preparing for this growth through the creation of the original Southern Nevada Strong Regional Policy Plan. Through this effort, our community created a vision for how we wanted to grow to ensure that Southern Nevada remained a place for all to thrive.
This effort is called Southern Nevada Strong!
Why We’re Evolving the Plan
Now, ten years later, we are bringing our community back together to update the Southern Nevada Strong Regional Policy Plan. Since adopting the last Plan, our region has experienced a pandemic, widespread unemployment, hotter days, and more expensive housing. To ensure Southern Nevada Strong is still meeting the needs of our community, we’re bringing community members, businesses, non-profits, and government agencies together to create Southern Nevada Strong 2050!
Southern Nevada Strong 2050 will be our community roadmap to bring housing we can attain, higher-paying jobs, and better ways to get around the region.
Together, we’ll figure out how to make Southern Nevada a fairer, smarter, and stronger place for everyone.
